LAHORE: A team of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) with the Allama Iqbal Zone launched an operation at Samsani village (Johar Town) and retrieved 100 plots (each of five marla) from land grabbers.
The people occupying the plots (total 25 kanals) unlawfully set up pens of buffaloes and cows on the LDA land.
The team, according to a spokesman, demolished pens and also took 50 buffaloes into custody.
After taking over possession of the land, the team handed over it to LDA’s engineering wing for carrying out development related works.
On the other hand, another LDA team got first information reports lodged against the sponsors of eight housing schemes for carrying out development work in their projects without getting permission under the law.
Site offices and other infrastructure have already been dismantled by demolished by the teams in these schemes. Meanwhile, the authority also declared 19 housing schemes situated in different parts of Lahore.
“Prospective buyers should not to make investment in these societies and refrain from purchasing plots,” said a press release.
