HARIPUR: Police on Sunday recovered mutilated body of a 10-year-old boy from the fields of Panian village here.

According to Kotnajibullah police, the area people spotted the body of a boy in Maira area of Panian and informed the police, which shifted the body to the rural health centre Kotnajibullah for autopsy.

The police said the victim was wearing Shalwar and Kameez which indicated that he was either an Afghan national or belonged to some rural part of the Hazara division.

Police and doctors said the body was over 10 days old and was decomposed, having no identity marks or document found on it.

Police said it was not clear whether the boy was strangled, stabbed or poisoned to death. They said further investigation would base on findings of autopsy report that had not yet been received.

It is to mention here that on March 29, body of a seven-year-old boy was found from Marchabad village in Khanpur tehsil and the police and postmortem report had confirmed that the boy was raped before being strangled.

However, on the complaint of the victim’s father a juvenile offender aged 17 from the same village was arrested and during investigation he confessed to the crime.
