MANSEHRA: A man killed his sister in the name of honour in Darband area here on Thursday.

According to the family sources, the victim had spent a day outside home and when she returned his brother allegedly fired at her leaving her seriously injured.

She was taken to a nearby hospital, but did not survive.

The body of the victim was handed over to her family after completion of medico-legal formalities at the hospital.

Also in the day, over 20 dog bite cases were reported in Balakot.

The injured, including students, were taken to the civil hospital in Balakot from where doctors referred all of them to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital for administration of anti-rabies vaccine.

Liaquat Ali, whose son was bitten along with other students, told mediapersons that there was shortage of anti-rabies vaccine in Balakot and that all the victims were referred to a hospital in Mansehra.

He said that the tehsil municipal administration, Balakot, had failed to kill stray dogs in its jurisdiction.
