SUKKUR: Two minor children were burnt alive while three youngsters received burn injuries when their mother allegedly attempted to commit suicide along with the children over domestic problems in village Maroo Wala of Ghotki district on Thursday.

According to reports, Mai Allah Dini, wife of Mor Boohar, along with her children went into an agricultural field about a kilometre away from her house in village Maroo Wala and tried to commit suicide along with her children by setting fire to the husk and bushes of sugar cane.

As a result her two minor daughters Zakia (3), and Shaheena (1), were burnt alive while Mai Allah Dini, her daughter Allah Wadhai (14), Nisar (12), and Nasir (10) received severe burns injuries. They were shifted to a Rahim Yar Khan hospital due to non-availability of burns ward in any hospital of Ghotki district.

According to Mor Boohar, father of the victim children, the fire broke out from spark of wooden stove in the house while according to local reporters the incident took place in the agricultural field.

When the local media contacted the SHO concerned, he said the matter was being investigated. An FIR of the incident could not be lodged till the filing of this report.
