THIS is apropos the letter ‘FGEHF housing scheme’ (Feb 13). The housing scheme at Barakahu was announced by the Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF) for federal government employees. When I visited it I came to know that land negotiations process with the local villagers was still underway.

Whenever it was contacted the foundation always asks the members to deposit more money to refresh the registration. A government servant does not have enough financial means and cannot dole out money without any guarantee of concrete results.

On the contrary, the private sector works rapidly on such housing schemes like Bahria Enclave, Naval Anchorage, Gulberg Greens and Gulberg Residensia and many other projects located in the vicinity of Islamabad toll plaza.

The head of FGEHF should invite and brief its members and future allottees, for they can ill-afford to see their hard-earned money go waste. It is the duty of FGEHF to be transparent and facilitate the people.
