LAHORE: PPP Senator Rehman Malik has demanded the government convene a joint session of the parliament in the wake of Indian threats.

“As India is planning to attack us, Prime Minister Imran Khan must convene a joint session of the parliament to discuss and form a strategy for exposing and countering the likely Indian aggression,” Mr Malik told the media here on Tuesday.

He said the PTI government should invite opposition leaders Shahbaz Sharif, Asif Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto for taking a unanimous stand and calling a joint session of parliament.

“The government should act fast as New Delhi may start the misadventure anytime. India desires to make situation tense along the borders and we’ll have to be ready for checking any Indian surgical strike.”

He believed the Pulwama attack was like the Samjhota incident, an insider’s act, executed for an Indian army general had verified that explosives use in the attack were India-made.

He said the drama was enacted under a conspiracy to provide Modi an issue for diverting public attention from local affairs and win the polls.
