ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to start development work in C-15 and E-12.

In both the sectors, partial development work would be started within a few days. The contract of C-15 was awarded last year but work could not be started so far.

CDA officials said Chairman Amer Ali Ahmad while chairing a sector development meeting directed the officials concerned to ensure start of the development work in both the sectors within a month.

The CDA is yet to take complete possession of E-12 as there are still around 1,000 houses of local people and the built-up property claims of 15pc of the land owners is still pending.

In C-15, the civic agency is yet to get possession of land. However, the CDA decided to start development work in those parts of the sectors where there is no issue of land possession.

It has also been decided that the initial development work in I-12 would also be started soon.

Several residential sectors are stalled for years which include E-12, I-12, 1-15, I-14 and I-16 and Park Enclave II. When contacted, the CDA chairman said concerned formations had been directed to ensure the start of development work in E-12 and C-15 in the first phase.

“We have decided to start initial development work such as earthwork in E-12, 1-12 and in leftover area of Park Enclave I. There is no justification for sitting on the issue of stalled sectors. We have to provide relief to the citizens.”
He said the development work in I-15 and other sectors would be started in the next phase.
