LAHORE: Scion of Chaudhrys of Gujrat Moonis Elahi held a meeting with Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and Governor Chaudhry Sarwar here on Thursday and discussed matters related to the coalition partners in the province.

Talking to Dawn after the meeting, [MNA] Moonis said: “PM’s adviser Naeemul Haq has been tasked by the prime minister to sort out issues with the PML-Q.” He said PML-Q had trust in Mr Haq to deliver the promises he made on behalf of the premier.

Moonis said Buzdar had been very cooperative with PML-Q and it believed that he would take the coalition forward. According to a party source, differences between the PTI and PML-Q had almost been resolved as the latter will get another portfolio in Punjab. “PML-Q’s [lone] Mines and Minerals Minister Ammar Yasir will also take back his resignation,” he said, adding PML-Q MPA Bao Rizwan might get the ministry.

Speaking to media persons, the governor said the PTI government was taking along all its coalition partners with an objective to make Pakistan and its institutions strong as per the vision of the premier.

“The PTI government wiped out political interference in state institutions and set an example of neutral government,” he said. It merits mentioning that PM’s adviser Naeemul Haq and federal minister Pervaiz Khattak had met the Chaudhrys after Ammar Yasir had tendered his resignation to Pervaiz Elahi over ‘undue interference’ in his ministry.
