SUKKUR: Prime Minister Imran Khan is likely to visit Khangarh on Feb 10 and address a public meeting at the residence of Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) MPA Sardar Ali Gohar Khan Mahar, according to sources.

The sources said that Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and other leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf including Haleem Adil Shaikh visited Mr Gohar at his residence in Karachi on Thursday and discussed prevailing political situation in Sindh.

GDA MNA Ghous Bux Khan Mahar, Dr Hasnain Mirza, Jai Parkash Ukrani, Ghulam Rasool Unnar, Ali Junejo and other leaders were also present in the meeting. The leaders discussed likely visit of the prime minister and other matters of mutual interest, said the sources.

The sources said that the meeting also discussed the prime minister’s addressing the public meeting at Mr Gohar’s residence in Khangarh. A delegation of GDA leaders to be led by Pir Pagara might also meet the prime minister during his visit and raise demand for a development package for Sindh, said the sources.

Meanwhile, preparations were under way at Gohar Palace to welcome the prime minister.

Prior to this meeting, Governor Imran Ismail and other PTI leaders had met Mr Gohar earlier on Dec 29 and discussed political strategy with regard to possible change of government in Sindh in the wake of JIT report on mega money laundering scandal in which Pakistan Peoples Party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, among others, were accused of involvement in ‘fake’ bank accounts.
