51pc of Pakistanis hold favourable opinion of PM Khan's overall performance: poll

More than half of Pakistan has a favourable opinion of Prime Minister Imran Khan's overall performance after his first five months in power, a new poll conducted by Gallup Pakistan and the Gilani Foundation suggests.
As part of the survey, a representative sample of 1,141 people was asked, “What is your opinion on Prime Minister Imran Khan’s overall performance up until now, i.e., since his winning the 2018 elections?”
According to the survey's findings, 38 per cent of Pakistanis rated the premier's performance as "good", whereas another 13pc had a "very good" opinion of whatever he's been up to.

In total, 51pc of the sampled people held a favourable opinion of the prime minister's performance, who assumed the top office on August 18 last year following his party's triumph in the general elections the previous month.
Meanwhile, 26pc people had a "bad" opinion of the PM's performance, whereas 20pc had a "very bad" view. Three per cent did not know or did not wish to respond.
Urban respondents, according to the survey's results, were found to be significantly more upbeat about PM Khan's tenure.
From among urban respondents, 15 per cent were of the view that the prime minister's performance has been very good up until now, while 44pc said that it had been good. Twenty-three per cent termed it 'bad', 16pc termed it 'very bad', and 2pc did not know or did not wish to respond.
Meanwhile, from among rural respondents, only 12pc said that the prime minister's performance had been very good, 35pc said that it had been good, 27pc opined that it had been bad, 22pc said that it had been very bad, while 4pc did not know or did not wish to respond.
The age-wise breakdown found that PM Khan enjoys a better approval rating among millennials, with 65 per cent of the respondents under the age of 30 holding a favourable opinion of him.
However, the prime minister's popularity takes a massive hit in the 50-plus age bracket, with a combined 51 per cent of them believing that his performance has been either "bad" or "very bad".
The prime minister's Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf had received 16.85 million (almost 32 per cent) of the total 53m votes cast in the 2018 general elections.

A true leader. The only leader in the history of Pakistan who has genuinely worked his way up to the top. Zardari hijacked PPP after Benazir’s death; Nawaz was launched by Gen Zia. None had to actually struggle.
It was so easy for Imran Khan to join any mainstream party and become a minister and then work his way up like the others, he had offers from almost every government ever since he entered politics.
He chose to fight these gangsters, alone, it was seemingly an impossible and daunting task and everyone mocked him for stubbornly fighting a lost battle, and if you just go back a few years, it seemed like it too. Khan proved his mettle; he stood against the tide and remained unshakeable.

These polls are not quite representative of the factual position considering the very small number 1141 people who have polled.It would have been reasonable if at least 100000 people have polled being around 0.01% of above 18 years.IK would get at least 75% of the popular /performance vote.

@Sohail, I don’t know the details, but that’s what sampling is about. The world over, opinion polls are about ‘representative sampling’. No one surveys the entire population as it’s prohibitively expensive and takes time. Most opinion polls in US cover a sample size of 500 people (given a pre-defined margin of error)

The rating is not fantastic because many people in Pakistan still think that like previous PMs Imran will also not be able to serves the poor people of Pakistan and make life easier for masses of Pakistan. It will improve as the commitment of present Govt to the country and their efforts to get rid of corruption will bear fruits.

The so called survey conducted for the appraisal of Gvot performance seems to be a little bit bias.
In fact a considerable number of silent majority i.e. more than 51% of population is overwhelmingly supporting the measures so far taken by Imran for improvement and advancement of weak and vulnerable economic condition of country
Over all the people of Pakistan including overseas Pakistanies are satisfied. Especially Imran's derive for austerity and steps so.far taken to curb corruption is equally applaused and much appreciated by a common man.

A good majority from the "nay" camp will switch sides as the time will pass. As for the older citizens (50 +), they were the sleepers of their time, they never stood up for all the wrongdoing, it was during their prime time when bribes were secured new heights and corruption paved way for the way of life. I label them as pessimists, who just complain but never stood against debacle of Pakistan's economic growth, ever growing poverty and deteriorating nation's morality. I blame that generation for most of the ills in Pakistan.

I have not trusted this one man fake survey company before when he would do anything to make Sharifs are gods! he works for only money or agendas set to provide results accordingly.
so PTI take a break, and wait for the next survey from him, dont be surprised if its opposite.

Here in Interior Sindh for the first time in my life they are talking about PTI in the dhabas ground breaking as they have only supported PPP before but now they are going for the change.
I'm from very improvised area of Interior Sindh but I was successful in educating myself, now I can see the crimes of the mafia of Zardari and Zardari Junior. They are and have been looting us with both hands, this will stop and can't go on like this forever. We just some help to get rid of the political leaders and police who are used against our people in doing extra judicial killing for fear mongering and financially targeting business of people who vote for any party but PPP Zardari.

Keep it up "Kaptan" we the people are with you on changing the mindset of sycophancy, V.I.P. culture, accountability, equality before the law, health and education facilities to the common citizen, reducing the birth rate of nation, most importantly ending corruption, I think if Pakistan can achieve even a fraction of I.K. would like we will be one step ahead. If other nations like China, can go so far in such a short time, is a lesson to Pakistan and others, that they can do it, if they wanted.
