SHEIKHUPURA: A lawyer shot at and injured his colleague at Shahkot over a parking dispute on Wednesday.

According to witnesses, the altercation arose when advocate Adil Imdad parked his car in front of the chamber of another lawyer, Iqbal Butt, who asked him to move his vehicle from there.

After exchange of words between the two lawyers, Adil called his lawyer brother, Abid Imdad, who on reaching the spot opened fire, injuring Mr Butt seriously. He was shifted to hospital.

Panicked by gunshots, other lawyers and litigants rushed for cover to save their lives.

On being informed of the incident, Nankana District Police Officer Naveed Ahmad reached the spot and inspected the crime scene.

Later, talking to the media he said stern action would be taken against the suspect.

He said Shah Kot city police registered a case against eight suspects, including Adil Imdad and his brother Abid Imdad. Further investigation was under way.

In another incident, a litigant pursuing a property case was shot dead by his rival at Ferozewala.

According to police, Zahid who was pursuing a property case in a civil court at Ferozewala was returning home when his rival Adnan opened fire at him, killing him on the spot.

Ferozwala police have started investigation.
