ISLAMABAD: Possibly to counter any criticism of the mini-budget being presented by the government on Wednesday (today), Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry on Tuesday issued a statement in which he heaped praise on the government’s economic policies.

In a tweet, he said: “Tomorrow (Wednesday) is an important day.”

He added that the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government would present its economic agenda to the public.

The minister did not give up his practice of harshly criticising the previous government and added in the tweet that in five months the government had managed to tackle the crises arising out of what he called devastating economic policies of previous governments.

Mr Chaudhary claimed that the government had effectively handled the financial emergency arising out of pressures for external payments in five months.
