PESHAWAR: Peshawar police on Sunday claimed to have arrested two accused for being involved in murder of a peace body head, Malik Mir Alam of Bara area of Khyber tribal district.

A statement issued from the office of capital city police officer said the alleged target killers, who identified themselves as Sajid and Kamran of Bara, had been detained in Hayatabad during routine checking. Police also recovered two 9mm semi-automatic pistols and a motorcycle from them.

The peace body chief was currently living in Sufaid Dheri area of Peshawar. He was attacked two days ago by two motorcyclists while he was on way to Bara in his car near Achini nullah.

Police said the accused had admitted to their involvement in murder.
