ISLAMABAD: Pakistan defeated hosts Thailand to qualify for the semi-finals at the 19th Asian Junior Squash Team Championship in Pattaya.

In their last pool match, Pakistan team thrashed Thailand 3-0 to make the last four.

Pakistan now play the semi-final either against Malaysia or Hong Kong.

In the semi-final, Pakistan meet either Malaysia or Hong Kong both of whom face each other in the other pool match.

In the first singles of U-15 category, Pakistan’s Mohammad Hamza Khan defeated Vassipol of Thailand 11-1, 11-3, 11-0 in a one-sided affair.

Hamza’s compatriot Farhan Hashmi in the second singles match then simply crushed Waritpol of Thailand 11-0, 11-0, 11-0.

In the third singles clash, Abbas Zeb outclassed his opponent Abbas Abdullah 11-2, 11-2, 11-0 to give Pakistan a thumping victory and a place in the semi-finals.
