Large billboards

Published January 17, 2019

THERE are numerous locations in the city where very large advertisement billboards and hoardings can still be seen despite the superior judiciary’s orders to dismantle them. Some of these billboards are digital and pose a greater hazard after sunset as their flashing lights and video clips are a danger to motorists and pedestrians.

Three places where large digital billboards are still in operation is the Nuplex Cinema complex –itself a major traffic bottleneck— on Rashid Minhas road. The other two billboards are on Sharea Faisal. The first near Finance and Trade Centre and the second on the left near near Fauzia Wahab flyover on the track heading the airport.

These billboards are a hazard because of their attention-grabbing skills. The authorities should remove them immediately.
