KARACHI: The duo of Bilal and Furqan Patel chalked up magnificent straight victory over their opponents to annex the men’s doubles title in the Karachi Table Tennis Championship at the Sindh Sports Board (SSB) Sports Complex on Sunday.

They defeated the combination of Saim Adnan and Durab 11-5, 11-5, 11-5 for the honours.

Earlier, in the semi-finals Bilal and Furqan carved out 11-7, 11-2, 11-3 victory over Azhar and Khawar while Saim and Durab registered 9-11, 12-10, 11-3, 11-7 victory over Aahil Shah and Nauman.

Meanwhile, Furqan is on course for a double crown as he had powered into the men’s singles final while getting the better of Mohammad Ali Ashraf 11-5, 12-10, 5-11, 11-7, 11-6 in the semi-final.

Furqan takes on Saim Adnan in the final after the latter was home over Hamza Godil in the other semi-final in contrasting style the scores being 6-11, 11-6, 11-7, 5-11, 11-8, 8-11, 11-7.

Men’s doubles:

Final: Bilal and Furqan Patel bt Saim Adnan and Durab 11-5, 11-5, 11-5.

Semi-finals: Bilal and Furqan bt Azhar and Khawar 11-7, 11-2, 11-3; Saim Adnan and Durab bt Aahil Shah and Nauman 9-11, 12-10, 11-3, 11-7.

Quarter-finals: Bilal and Furqan bt Arsalan and Mohammad Ali 12-10, 12-10, 11-5; Saim Adnan and Durab bt A.H.Bhatti and Zubair 11-7, 11-9, 11-5; Aahil Shah and Nauman bt Salman and Khadeesh 10-12, 8-11, 11-6, 13-11, 11-9; Azhar and Khawar bt Hussain and Nadir Sohail 11-6, 11-9, 2-11, 9-11, 11-6.
