QUETTA: Deputy Parliamentary Leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) in the Balochistan Assembly and Provincial Health Minister Mir Naseebullah Marri has indicated that his party will vote for the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) candidate in the by-election for a Senate seat from the province.

Talking to reporters, he said that being a coalition partner of the BAP at the federal and provincial level, the PTI would support the former’s candidate in the Senate by-election as the PTI sought to strengthen relations with all coalition partners.

The Senate seat has fallen vacant after the death of Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party Senator Sardar Azam Khan Musakhail last week.

Mr Marri said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had issued a clear directive about support for the BAP candidate in the Senate by-election.

“The PTI and BAP have been making earnest efforts to resolve public issues at the federal and provincial levels because we want to maintain public trust reposed in us in general elections,” Mr Marri said.

“We are politicians and believe in democracy and political ideology to resolve public issues,” he added.
