The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday, while announcing the broadcast and live streaming rights agreement for the Pakistan Super League (PSL), said the new deal is priced 358 per cent more than the previous three seasons of the league.

A statement issued by the board said the consortium of Blitz Advertising and Techfront had acquired the broadcast and live streaming rights for the fourth season, adding that the actual figures of the agreement would remain confidential.

"The new rights cycle renews a time-tested partnership between Pakistan Cricket Board, Blitz Advertising and Techfront," it stated.

The details of local and foreign television channels that will air PSL 2019 will be "finalised and then released in due course", the statement added.

"We have successfully exceeded our targets for the new PSL broadcast and live streaming rights," Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ehsan Mani said.

This is all fooling people, previously if they were sold in $1 now they are getting $358 but that is not the market standard, they know so they are hiding figure.

358% of what? Combined 3 year revenue or yearly average revenue? Is it increase money or increase in number of TV channels and online streaming websites? The basis of 358% is not very clear. For transparency sake the deal needs to be public.

@Ahmed, agree with you, how can the figure be higher when the news item tells ----- awn reported on Saturday that the PCB was receiving bids for the next three years’ media rights for the PSL but they were certainly not as attractive or handsome as compared to the bids received for the first two PSL editions (2016-17). --------------- Telling that figures were nor as attractive as earlier ones and then telling that this is the highest ever - more than 358 buillion dollars ...something funny and fishy here?

@Ahmed, Bhai if it was $1 before then 358% is = $3.58 (not $358) Next time please do the match right. Everything looks ok The PSL brand is developing at ok pace.

Well numbers obviously match but wish PCB had announced the actual numbers themselves instead of Cricinfo doing so. PCB have sold domestic TV rights for 26 millions(was 8 million previously), oversees rights for 8 millions and online streaming rights for 3 millions which are decent numbers. Considering someone like Quetta gladiators owners who only pay 1.1 million per season as franchise fees but get same share as Multan who will pay over 6 million per season so old franchises can finally break even this season and start making profits from season 5 onward.
