Japan's National Security Adviser (NSA) Kentaro Sonoura on Wednesday called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad and conveyed his country's desire to further strengthen the bilateral relations, Radio Pakistan reported.

During the meeting, the prime minister said Islamabad looks forward to establishing a greater level of cooperation with Japan, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, infrastructure, and human resource development.

The prime minister encouraged Japanese investment in Pakistan, which he said has immense economic potential, having a young population and unexplored mineral wealth.

Imran Khan acknowledged the importance of Japan as a development and investment partner and expressed satisfaction over the cordial relations between the two sides.

The Japanese adviser underscored Japanese high respect for Pakistan in fighting terrorism.
