I FAIL to understand what the government was thinking when it invited the Indian leadership to the ground-breaking ceremony of Kartarpur corridor. Not that I am against confidence-building measure with India, but let us look at the facts.

A few days earlier on Nov23, three terrorists attacked the Chinese consulate in Karachi. Two civilians and two policemen lost their lives in the attack while three terrorists were killed before they could enter the chancery. The Balochistan Liberation Army, a secessionist militant organisation, claimed responsibility for the deed. The BLA is a terrorist outfit backed and funded by India.

In other words, India is directly responsible for yet another unprovoked attack on Pakistan and what does our government do, play Neville Chamberlain to appease the fascist set up in New Delhi?

Why do we always turn the other cheek, when India never misses an opportunity to cause angst and harm to Pakistan?

As expected Indian foreign minister Sushma Sawraj declined the invitation to attend the Kartarpur corridor ground-breaking and announced New Delhi was sending two lower ranking ministers to the ceremony.

The government in Islamabad must deal with India keeping in view the sentiments of the nation.

WELL DONE! Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated the historic Kartarpur corridor on Wednesday. The opening of such a gateway will surely pave the way for healthy relationship between two neighbouring countries.

This is a progressive initiative which will ultimately promote religious tourism and bilateral contact in the region.

Additionally this is a dream come true for the Sikh community. Earlier Sikh pilgrims would have to apply for a visa almost every year to visit their Gurdwara but now they have this corridor to facilitate them. Undoubtedly, the Sikh community, just like us, is overjoyed at this moment.
