LAHORE: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar inaugurated Chief Minister’s Complaint Centre at his office on Wednesday by pressing the button and listened to a complaint by a complainant.

He said the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government fulfilled yet another promise by launching the centre along the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan. Initially, complaints can be lodged at the specified numbers relating to health, education, police and deputy commissioner offices. The scope of the centre will be extended to the whole province as the provision of immediate solutions to the citizens is our important responsibility.

He said that people from remote areas could not approach the Chief Minister’s Office and the centre would facilitate such hapless people now. He said feedback of the media would also be collected and complaints would be resolved from three days to two weeks time period. Immediate response would be received about the complaints lodged in this centre, he said.

He said he was a witness to the problems of south Punjab as he was from the most backward area. He said work was being done on the creation of south Punjab province and committees had been constituted at Punjab and federal levels. He said the prime minister would announce a south Punjab package.

He said that no U-turn was taken by the government with regard to release of discretionary funds as a proper procedure was being followed for the release of such funds. The government had to perform according to a laid-down procedure and expenditures were made thereof. All matters pertaining to the government as well as the release of funds would be done through a transparent mechanism.

He said a lot of work has been done on the draft of new local bodies system and would be approved by the provincial cabinet before being tabled in the assembly.

The chief minister said he would brief the media on the 100 days performance of the Punjab government. He said dispute resolution committees are being formed to solve public disputes at the grassroots. Also, the Punjab government plans to make a record legislation in the Punjab Assembly session to be held at the start of next month.

He said that postings and transfers were the prerogative of the government and authority and powers of every government post has been identified in the constitution. He said that he was powerful chief minister and no one could use the powers of others as the powers of governor, chief minister, speaker and ministers had been identified. Mr Buzdar said electricity has been provided to his village and it would be provided to other localities as well.

At the inauguration of the complaints centre, a citizen lodged a complaint about the absence of math teacher in a school of Township. The citizen was given complaint number 47-302/832 and he was told that a message would be sent to his mobile phone and he would also be informed about the redressal of his complaint.Anyone can register their complaint by calling 0800-02345.
