LARKANA: An old feud between the Jalbani and Kharos clans claimed a third life on Sunday when a 22-year-old man, Fida Hussain Kharos, was shot dead in an ambush near Bhando Qubo, situated on the outskirts of Ratodero town.

Unknown assailants, believed to be members of the Jalbani clan, waylaid him while his was on his way to his village, Mir Khan Kharos, after leaving Ratodero. Fida Hussain died on the spot and the assailants escaped from the spot.

The bereaved family, along with a large number of Kharos clansmen, took the body to the nearby section of the Larkana-Shikarpur road and held a protest demonstration causing suspension of vehicular traffic for a couple of hours. They were demanding immediate arrest of the killers.

The Ratodero DSP and SHO concerned held negotiations with the protesters and persuaded them to clear the road.

Later, police picked up seven suspects, including Oshaq, Ghulam Serwar, Javed, Amir Bukhsh, Waqar Ali and Shahnawaz, belonging to the Jalbani clan for interrogation.

An FIR of the murder was yet to be registered.

The feud had resulted in the murder of two persons in the recent past.
