MURREE: Finally, the Punjab government has released Rs500 million for Lower Topa-Kohala Road project and the work on the project would soon be started.

This was stated by MPA from Murree and Kotli Sattian retired Major Latasob Satti while talking to Dawn.

The road has been in a pathetic condition for years, prompting locals to launch protest against the government for not constructing the road, which is used by about 25,000 commuters daily.

The previous Punjab government had allocated Rs2.12 billion in 2016, but released only Rs100 million.

After digging the road for re-carpeting the construction company stopped the work for want of payment of dues.

Due to digging up of road a large numbers of locals suffered a lot specially schoolchildren, patients and traders.

While talking to this correspondent MPA Satti said the Punjab governor played amajor role in release of funds.
