Afghans’ repatriation suspended

ISLAMABAD: The UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has announced suspension of UNHCR-facilitated voluntary repatriation process for all registered Afghans holding valid proof of registration cards from December 1 for the next three months.

The voluntary repatriation process will resume on March 1, 2019.

During the winter break, the UNHCR will not facilitate repatriation from the Voluntary Repatriation Centres at Azakhel, Nowshera and Baleli, Quetta, the UN refugee agency announced on Tuesday.
