Arms licence book

The Sindh government, a few years ago, started converting arms licences into computerised licences. I applied for the conversion and now want to get my new computerised arms licence.

However, the deputy commissioner staff wants me to surrender my old licence book before providing my computerised arms licence. Since I have a very old arms licence issued in the 1970s, I would like to keep it as memorabilia.

While old arms licence book has value for me, asking to surrender it to the government authorities is illogical, for it will be of no use for the government. It can be stamped as cancelled and returned to me along with my new computerised arms licence just like it is done by Nadra in case of passport renewal.

Will somebody from the Sindh home department issue directive to all deputy commissioners in Karachi and Sindh to return old arms licence books to licence holders after cancelling them?
