GILGIT: Five people were killed and one was injured in separate incidents in Diamer district of Gilgit-Baltistan on Tuesday.

According to police, members of a family from Dodishal area of Deral attacked house of their relatives in the same village on Tuesday morning. They said Ghulam Nabi led the attack, adding the attackers believed that a murderer of their family member had arrived at the house. The murder took place about six years ago, they said.

The police said the assailants then barged into the house and opened fire on the alleged killer. During the firing, Majeed, his wife and father, Salam Sher, died on the spot, while a nine-month-old child of Majeed sustained injury.

The victims’ family retaliated and shot dead Ghulam Nabi.

The injured child, who received a bullet in his head, was shifted to a local hospital where his condition was said to be stable.

Police registered FIR of the incident in Dodishal police station.

In another incident, an unknown person killed a resident of Tangir identified as Fazal Ellahi.

Police suspected that the murder occurred as a result of an enmity.

FIR of the case was registered in the local police station.
