SARGODHA: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) retrieved on Saturday 2,400 state kanals in Sillanwali from the illegal occupation of PML-N leader Daniyal Aziz.

Regional ACE Director Asam Raza said former MNA Anwar Aziz, father of Daniyal, got the state land at Chak 170/172 in Sillanwali on lease from the livestock department in 1960, and the lease period ended in 2000. Later, Daniyal kept the possession of the land for the last 18 years without paying any amount to the government.

The ACE team, headed by Deputy Director Arooful Hassan, along the assistant commissioner, the tehsildar and police demolished buildings erected there.

A spokesperson for the ACE said that under the inquiry No 206/2018, it emerged that the Aziz family had been occupying the state land for the last 18 years illegal. The ACE has already got vacated commercial land from land grabbers.
