KARACHI: Mahfooz-ul-Haq has been elected as chairman while Asif Azeem has been elected as the president of the Karachi Olympic Association which was formed here on Thursday with an aim to uplift sports in the city and provide better facilities to sportspersons at the grassroot level.

According to KOA officials, the platform has been established to promote sports in the biggest city of the country with a focus on junior players.

Sindh Olympic Association (SOA) Secretary Ahmed Ali Rajput has been appointed as KOA vice-chairman while the other office-bearers of KOA include vice-presidents Saeed Jameel, Sana Ali, Asghar Baloch and Khalid Rehmani. Mohammad Taqi is the secretary while Nau­shad Ahmed is secretary finance.

Mohammad Taqi has been appointed as KOA Secretary while Noshad Ahmed has been appointed as secretary finance. Majidah Hameed and Abdul Hameed will also be a part of KOA Executive Committee.

Majida Hameed and Abdul Hameed are the executive committee members.
