Replace Ali Jahangir as ambassador to USA. Replace all PMLN appointed ambassadors in all countries. Why FM is so slow to take such an important action. Pathetic delays.

What else do you expect when people are not appointed on merit, they misbehave, take full advantage of the perks and abuse the system.

If Ambassador to England has stooped low and behaved in an undignified manner,he should be given a sack.Mere explanation will not suffice.He is not a School boy.Mind you such behavior lets down Pakistan.

These are N League High Commissionor and there are some Ambassadors also, call all the political and servant type Ambassadors back and appoint the deserved and genuine Ambassadors of Pakistan, foreign Office trained diplomats.

Do you really need to ask him to travel to Pakistan on government paid expenses for explanation, in this hitech age, why he couldn't do the same over a video call, e-mail, phone call etc we are Pakistan even US would not fly people just for explanation!!

The ambassador is there in UK to look after the business affair of NS and family.Corruption speak loudly and every where in so called democratic governments.Sindh is even worst.

Sack him and appoint a competent and experienced diplomat who is capable of performing his duties diligently, impartially and professionally. Foreign dignities represent their country's affairs with dignity and do not compromise on sovereignty and disrespect to their country - this is their role.

As observed, experienced and seen in the past on global basis, unfortunately, more than 90 percent of Sahibzada Ahmad Khan's counterparts in various embassies and consulates in the world are like him and tragically, remain under the influence of alcohol during public interaction and exposure. Hopefully, the new P.T.I. administration can change it.

@jaba Well he will probably take asylum there If he’s saked or remain there so that’s way he’s been asked to come to Pakistan for explaination which literally means he’ll be fired

All PPP and PMLN appointees who are careless and not performing as expected must be removed. All ex PPP PML-N people who were in government and violated the law of Pakistan or worked against the interests of Pakistan must extradited and charged for misbehavior and breaking the law by violating their trust to the nation.

Dont summon, but sack.

All foreign postings made by the previous government should be reviewed and proper audit conducted into the accounts and administrative matters of the missions abroad.

Don't waste foreign currency. Just do video chat.

@javed : It's not easy to replace people in top positions particulary Diplomats. You decision must must be supported by a strong reason to replace your High commissioner in foriegn countries. As this may be termed as erratic in the eyes of hosting countries.

Appointments should only be on Merit. The services need to be purged.

@javed totally agree with you suggestion...All Political appointments by PMLN as Ambassadors to various countries should be with immediate effect recalled..It is need of hour to appoint the component offices from our Foreign Office...There no lack of capable and carrier officers who can and will represent out country in the best of its Interest...The current Government shloud take this task on war footing.,No more beneficies on these sensitive posts as Ambassadors... Enough is enough...

@javed, decisions in these matters cannot be taken in a hurry. It takes time to choose the right people for the right area they will be posted at.

Despicable , such is the quality our diplomats, fire him immediately. Its time that our diplomats start doing what they are supposed to do. Foreign office should not react only to viral videos (which is ok too) but also a systematic audit / accountability of each mission , weed out the black sheeps and assign clear goals to truly represent our culture and values and promote business activities to increase our exports. Let's get to work.

Too heavy-handed. The Foreign Minister is acting either with arrogance or with some malice for his past actions. There is not enough in the video to publicly humiliate High Commissioner of Pakistan. He appeared as engaging with people. Unlike most bureaucratic grim looking pallbearers like 'ambassadors' who appear way out of place in vibrant London and New York.

Why do you want to spend that kind of money on his flight home so he can give you a sorry explanation, talk to him on skype or other video channel and tell him he's got 24 hours to get his stuff out, he's done, and donate that money to an orphanage.

Pakistan should send career officers as ambassador to important countries. The task of selling Pakistan is a formidable one. You don’t need drunken jokers to make the task even harder. He should have been fired unless of course there was a medical explanation in which case seek treatment.

Entire process of appointing ambassadors is wrong. Country like Pakistan cannot afford to have good for nothing blue eyed buys traveling overseas on tax payer's money. Pakistan should appoint Marketers as Ambassadors and train them for a year before assigning any country to them.

I suggest to the FM to quickly review all the ambassadors and high commissioners appointed by the PMLn government and replace them with merit appointees.

Ambassadors are official representation of what that country is. These political appointments should be called back. Enough delays! Do some quality work Shah Mehmood that’s what you are being paid for! Get these sifarishees out of these high places, appoint people on merit and don’t give excuses for not doing so. He may not be the only one of this type, there are lots of black sheep who have no respect for their country, office and even themselves. The PM and the FM need to get them back and post good deserving people in such posts.

An explanation will not do anything, he clearly does not deserve to be at this position. A total disgrace and an embarrassment for the nation.

Its time to change the mentality of the entire Foreign office and the people who represent Pakistan in different countries. They are all living it up out there on the expense of people of Pakistan. While the government struggles to make ends meat, they are living like kings.

These diplomats who are by and large a different species representing our 5% privileged elites having a highly bourgeois lifestyle not commensurate with our national values, are prone to act similarly under the influence of tranquilizer they are addicted to. A very difficult situation for the new government to deal with. The FM must establish a oversight committee who must screen out these delinquents on priority basis to avoid future embarrassment. The expariots living abroad, especially in ME, are at the mercy of this privilege class of public official, who are unable to deliver. One gets creepy feelings that a lot Pakistani citizens are rotting up in foreign prisons on petty crimes without any resolution to their cases. If we are professing change then, this is a most cost effective venue where new government can do a lot and get dividends in return. Let Us cash on this opportunity to clean our stables for the benefit of Pakistan.

I am embarrassed to watch the video, and feeling dead guilty for the same. If high commissioner is this then just imagine how would be the penal who will have appointed him on this venerated position. Disgraceful.

I have my very serious doubts if any diplomat, forget about Head of Mission, could behave and act alike which is not only very much objectionable but awfully shameful indeed to be honest. Foreign Minister who took and exception to it has very rightly called our High Commissioner to UK to submit a written reply for acting alike in a private function in London. I suggest that once HC comes to Islamabad he must be sacked forthwith and a case be lodged against him in a court of law for ridiculing his high esteem office and his name be put on ECL so that he cannot leave the country otherwise he will fly out like our former finance minister Ishaq Dar and it will be difficult to get him back in Pakistan. Let me pen that as HC he represents none but our Head of State and he cannot and should not be spared at all come what may to belittle the highest position bestowed upon Sahibzada Ahmad Khan.
