BANNU: The police on Wednesday foiled a sabotage attempt by recovering seven hand grenades hid under a bridge and having them defused by the bomb disposal unit personnel.

SHO Saeedullah Khan said on information that some miscreants had hidden hand grenades under a bridge in Rashmi Kalan for sabotage activities, the police rushed to the site, cordoned off the area and recovered seven hand grenades. The police then called bomb disposal unit personnel who safely defused the grenades.

The police said the timely action thwarted sabotage on first day of Muharram.
