KOHAT: The administration has decided to establish a joint command post comprising security officials and policemen in the old city police station from where all sensitive areas will be observed on monitors during Muharram, according to the security plan.

Meanwhile, the deputy commissioner ordered the Pesco officials to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity during night and exempt sensitive areas, especially vicinities of imambargahs, from loadshedding after 6thMuharram as part of the security measures.

A statement issued here from the office of the district police officer on Thursday said that over 5,000 personnel would be deployed in the district at all the entry and exit points, bazaars, 13 sensitive mosques and seven imambargahs and important squares. It said that CCTV cameras would also be installed at the sensitive places. The administration had declared imambargahs of Kachai, Chakarkot, Ustarzai, Mitha Khan, Marai, Kalo, Said Habib and Markazi as the most sensitive. The 13 mosques also include Kotwali, Haji Bhadar and Qazi seminary.
