QUETTA: Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) president Nawabzada Shahzain Bugti and his brother Gohram Bugti, who was elected as member of Balochistan Assembly in the July 25 elections, have urged the federal and Balochistan governments to take steps for safe return of displaced people of Bugti tribe, who migrated to Sindh and Punjab after the operation was launched in Balochistan in 2006.

The two brothers were talking to reporters here recently.

They said after the launch of operation in Dera Bugti district and other areas of the province the Bugti people had no other option but to leave their areas and take shelter in neighbouring districts of Sindh and Punjab.

Shahzain Bugti said the government of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif had promised that it would bring back all displaced Bugti people but it did nothing in this regard.

He said the JWP was the partner of both the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf at centre and the Balochistan Awami Party in the province and that they both had assured them that after coming to power they would take steps for return of displaced Bugti people to their areas.
