KARACHI: Man dies in accident

KARACHI, June 10: A man died in a hit-and-run accident on Stadium Road on Friday.

Police said that the victim was in his 40’s apparently crossing the road when a speeding vehicle hit him. He was taken to the nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

ENCOUNTER: Police arrested two suspects after a shootout in North Nazimabad on Friday.

Police said that four suspects on two motorcycles deprived a lady of some cash and gold ornaments in the limits of Taimuria police station. When police reached the spot, they opened fire. During the shootout, police arrested two of the suspects identified as Akbar and Rehan while the two others escaped. Police claimed recovery of pistols from their possession.

SHOT DEAD: A young man was shot dead by bandits in Orangi Town on Friday.

Police said that Izhar saw some suspects committing a robbery in the area. Instead of informing the police, he started throwing stones at them, police said. The suspects opened fire at him and fled. Izhar suffered a fatal bullet wound and died on the spot. The victim was father of six children and property dealer.
