GWADAR: Five people, including three Frontier Corps personnel, were injured in a grenade attack in Turbat town of Kech district on Sunday.

Police officials said that armed men on a motorcycle hurled the grenade at an FC vehicle parked near a bank’s building in Turbat. The grenade exploded, injuring three FC men and two civilians passing through the area.

The attackers managed to escape after carrying out the attack.

The injured FC men were identified as Muhammad Shafiq, Shamsuddin and Khalilur Rehman and the civilians as Muhammad Bakhsh and Changaiz Khan. They were taken to the district headquarters hospital. Injured FC personnel were later shifted to Quetta for treatment.

Security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to trace the suspects involved in the grenade attack.
