Colombia's foreign minister says his country has become the latest to recognise Palestinian statehood.
Carlos Holmes said on Wednesday that the outgoing government of President Juan Manuel Santos made the decision last week, shortly before leaving office.
New President Ivan Duque was sworn in on Tuesday. His government said it would study the implications of Santos' last minute decision on the Palestinians, but acknowledged that it was legal.
The United States doesn't recognise a Palestinian state, and Colombia long refrained from doing so due to its close ties with Washington. But in recent years Colombia has sought to chart a more independent foreign policy that has included calling for changes to US-backed anti-narcotics policies.
Colombia is the last country in South American to recognise Palestinian statehood.

Colombia also should recognise the Jewish nation-state Israel.
Both Jews and Palestinians needs to live side by side two state solution the only just way.

Let’s stop blaming who did what ? Let get to work. Fix economy and justice system in Pakistan. Stop the import of all cars we do assemble or manufacture cars support local and save revenue, food items for luxury need to stop, build hundreds of medium dams and couple mega dams use army ,Wapda and local engineers pay in rupees, stop using oil to generate electricity, increase local oil and gas production, soybean and corn farming also should be priority all these are very easy to do if no corruption involved. These few steps will bring job growth, improve exports, decrease import, and balance budget. Sincerity and honesty and smart work anything can achieve and beyond.
Where is Colombia anyway?
Thank you Columbia for taking the right step. We Muslims will never find they this kind gesture. Thank you to the whole South American countries for supporting Palestine.
Do not get involved in other countries affairs. None came to support you and cited with those you have problem.
