PESHAWAR: Caretaker Chief Minister retired Justice Dost Muhammad khan has placed ban on export of sacrificial animals, vegetables and other stuff of daily use to Afghanistan.

The order is aimed at stabilising prices of animals and other commodities in the market. A statement said that the chief minister directed all district administrations to implement the decision in letter and spirit. It said that the order would remain in force till Eidul Azha.

The smuggling of sacrificial animals and other food stuffs had adversely affected the local people. This exercise is meant to remove the adverse effects on purchasing potential of the local people.

Meanwhile, the chief minister has directed the divisional and district administrations to launch raids both on the open markets and Peshawar Haji Camp and nab culprits selling out Ahram and other stuff required by the pilgrims.

He issued the directives, asking the relevant authorities to form raids parties to conduct surprise raids on the Haji camp. Serious action would be taken if anything was found wrong in the Haji camp, he said.

He said that district administration should be vigilant and watchful to monitor the premises of Haji camp and even the quality of items in the open markets.

Ahram and other items required by pilgrims should be available at reasonable rates. Extra rates and high prices should not be allowed, he added.
