BAHAWALNAGAR: Up to 200 people, including the Minchinabad Bar Association president and the municipal committee chairman, were booked on Wednesday for thrashing their political rivals, according to the Minchinabad police.

Bar president Khalid Mehmood Wattoo and Minchanabad Municipal Committee Chairman Israr Ahmad Paracha, with accomplices allegedly thrashed their political rivals and also damaged their vehicles. The incident took place when the recount of votes for PP-237 was under way on a plea by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf candidate Tariq Usman Gadhoka. Some political workers sustained injuries.

Earlier, a similar case was registered against Mr Gadhoka and his workers on the complaint of Khalid Wattoo.
