Two bandits arrested in Sukkur

SUKKUR, Jan 9: Two dacoits were arrested by the police in Murad Shah Colony on Wednesday.

The ASP, City, Mazhar Nawaz Shaikh told this correspondent that four dacoits intercepted a motorcyclist, Abdul Haleem Khoso, near the Wireless gate and snatched his motorcycle. When he offered resistance they injured him.

Soon a police party started chasing them. An encounter took place at Murad Shah Colony where two of them were arrested while two managed to escape.

Those who were arrested were identified as Ramzan Brohi and Nawab Brohi. Two TT pistols and a good quantity of bullets were recovered from their possession. Stolen motorcycles were also seized from them.

Those who escaped were identified as Ramzan Brohi and Nawab Brohi. Raids were being conducted to arrest them.

SALESMAN KILLED: A salesman, Jam Junejo, of a local confectionery shop was shot dead by three armed dacoits in Namak Bazaar on Wednesday.

COMPLAINT CENTRES: The deputy election commissioner (Field), Sukkur, announced that as per the decision of the Election Commission of Pakistan complaint centres had been established in the offices of all the assistant election commissioners and registration officers of Sukkur, Ghotki, Khairpur, Naushahro Feroze, and Nawabshah districts in connection with redressal of public grievances regarding preparations of electoral rolls, 2002.

It may be mentioned that preparation of Electoral Rolls, 2002 had been started from Jan 1 throughout the above-mentioned districts.

ANNUAL URS: The 133rd annual Urs of Faqir Qadir Bux Bedil will be celebrated from 14th Zulqad to 16th Zulqad 1422 A.M. at his Mazar at Rohri.

This was informed by the EDO (Revenue), Sukkur, M. Hussain Syed while holding a meeting of the Bedil Memorial Committee to discuss arrangements regarding the Urs celebrations.

A Mehfil-e-Sama, literary conference, Mushaira and Rag Rehan will also be part of the celebrations.

The EDO directed the Taluka municipal officer, Rohri, to ensure lighting sanitation and other required arrangements, so that devotees should not face any difficulty on the occasion.
