AS A Baloch, it pains me to write that our province is lacking in an efficient political leadership. Nary a person in Balochistan has faith in the current lot of leaders as they have failed repeatedly to solve basic issues like providing education, health facilities, employment opportunities and the primary basic need of the 21st century; electricity.

I am a resident — and long time sufferer — of Makran division where for the past fortnight there has been no electricity for almost 20 hours a day, the public hospitals have no doctors and public schools have no teachers.

The Baloch people have had enough. They demand basic amenities and the means to live their lives in dignity and respect. Is anyone listening and does anyone care?
