KARACHI: One Unit Club beat Omega Club 51-39 while Malir Trojan edged past Arambagh Club 33-32 in a thriller in the on-going 13th NBP Basketball Cup here at the Arambagh court on Sunday.

Tala Ahmed fired 17 points and was the architect of One Unit Club’s win. He was well assisted by Sarwar Hussain (12 points) and Danish Hussain (8 points) .

For the losing side, Anas Azhar (12 points), Tahir Naqqash (12 points) and Mohammad Hussain (8 points) contributed well but could not help their side win.

In the second match of the day, Malir Trojans won mainly due to efforts of Ali Raza (9 points), Abbas Khan (6 points and Baber Khan ( 5 points) . For the losing side, Rajkumar (10 points), Faisal Ahmed (8 points) and Abdullah (8 points) displayed superb game and brought Arambagh Club to within one point of the winners.

Renowned sports figure Athar Ali Khanzada was the chief guest on the occasion while KBBA president Ghulam Mohammad and sports director Tando Jam University Anwar Khanzada were also present.
