KARACHI: Chairperson National Softball Academy (NSA) Tehmina Asif has said that NSA would plant 20,000 trees as its contribution to Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) movement of Green Pakistan.

“It is a very good initiative from POA President Arif Hasan to start this healthy campaign which is also a part of Olympic Agenda 2020 and United Nation Organization (UNO),” Tehmina said.

She added that federations, associations and players who are affiliated with POA should come forward to contribute their share in POAs initiative for a greener Pakistan.

“We can achieve the goal through our collective efforts,” she said while visiting the National Softball Academy.

Director NSA Mohammad Nasir and other officials Naheed Liaquat, Zaheer Hussain, Pervaiz Ahmed Shaikh, Faraz Ejaz and Shahid Aftab were also present on the occasion.

Tehmina further said that in collaboration with Softball Federation of Pakistan (SFP), NSA would organize different competitions throughout the country and on the sidelines would propagate the message of greener Pakistan. “NSA would collaborate with other associations, federations and government departments as well as the NGOs to achieve its goal,” she said.

Tehmina also disclosed that NSA is aiming to start paying monthly stipends to its coaches so that they remain motivated and perform their duties well.
