KARAK: The people of Sangani, Saratkhel and adjoining localities here on Sunday organised a demonstration against what they said 20 hours of electricity loadshedding.

The protesters marched in a procession from Sangani and reached Shabbir Bus Stand where they held a meeting. They carried placards inscribed with slogans against Pesco.

Addressing the protesters, the speakers criticised the unscheduled loadshedding in the area and claimed that the prolonged power outages in the sizzling weather had made the lives of people miserable.

They added that loadshedding and low voltage had created water shortage as water supply schemes could not function.

They said they were paying the power bills according to the formula devised by the Pesco but despite that they were facing loadshedding for more than 18 hours a day.

‘PTI WILL SWEEP POLLS IN KARAK’: Former provincial minister and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf candidate for PK-85, Karak-I, Farid Khan Toofan has insisted that he will be the next chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and party chief Imran Khan would be the prime minister of the country.

He was addressing party workers in connection with his election campaign in Malagi Banda area here on Sunday. He said if the people wanted to accord respect to the vote then they should cast their votes for PTI.

He claimed that he would focus on mega projects to bring real change in the lives of the people, and added that huge funds of oil and gas royalty were meaningless for the people of the district as the elected representatives had swelled their bank balances instead of spending them on people’s welfare.

He said that the people were still facing more than 20 hours of electricity loadshedding, drinking water problem, and assured the people that he would not disappoint them after being elected to power.
