According to the weekly statement of position of all scheduled banks for the week ended June 8, 2018 deposits and other accounts of all scheduled banks stood at Rs12,278.628 billion after a 1.33 per cent decrease over the preceding week’s figure of Rs12,444.083bn. Compared with last year’s corresponding figure of Rs15,870.438bn, the current week’s figure was higher by 22.63pc.

Deposits and other accounts of all commercial banks stood at Rs12,212.838bn against preceding week’s deposits of Rs12,377.819bn, showing a fall of 1.33pc. Deposits and other accounts of specialised banks stood at Rs65.790bn, lower by 0.72pc against previous week’s figure of Rs66.265bn.

Total assets of all scheduled banks stood at Rs17,644.992bn, higher by 6.51pc over preceding week’s figure of Rs16,566.375bn. Current week’s figure is higher by 11.20pc compared to last year’s corresponding figure of Rs15,870.438bn.

Investments of all scheduled banks rose by 17.53pc against preceding week’s figure

Total assets of all commercial banks stood at Rs17,397.947bn, higher by 6.63pc over previous week’s figure of Rs16,315.662bn, while total assets of specialised banks at Rs247.044bn were lower 0.46pc over the previous week’s Rs.250.713bn.

Borrowings by all scheduled banks showed a substantial jump in the week under review. It rose by 67.00pc to Rs3,066.222bn against previous week’s Rs1,836.208bn. Compared to last year’s corresponding figure of Rs2,361.709bn, current week’s figure is higher by 29.83pc.

Borrowings by commercial banks in the week at Rs2,974.764bn were higher by 70.75pc against previous week’s Rs1,742.128bn. Borrowings by specialised banks stood at Rs91.458bn against the previous week’s figure of Rs94.081bn.

Investments of all scheduled banks stood at Rs7,911.721bn against preceding week’s figure of Rs6,731.842bn, higher by 17.53pc. Compared to last year’s corresponding figure of Rs7,841.430bn, current week’s figure is higher by 0.90pc.

Investments by all commercial banks stood at Rs7,861.931bn, higher by 17.70pc against preceding week’s figure of Rs6,679.487bn, whereas investment by all specialised banks stood at Rs49.790bn against preceding week’s figure of Rs52.355bn.
