KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Rehabilitation, retired Col Dost Mohammad Chandio visited the headquarters of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) of Sindh and chaired a meeting.

DG PDMA Akhter Hussain Bugti briefed him about the role and functions of PDMA Sindh, said a statement on Wednesday.

The DG PDMA apprised him about the monsoon contingency plan for 2018. He also gave a briefing regarding various trainings being conducted to face disaster-like situations.

Development schemes including construction of regional offices and warehouses located at Jamshoro, Sukkur and Karachi were also discussed.

Mr Chandio directed the PDMA to complete all contingency plans before the start of monsoon season and also directed to operate the provincial Emergency Operation Centre.
