LAHORE: Teams of Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) on Wednesday closed down 41 centres of quacks in three cities.

A spokesperson said that 18 centres of quacks were sealed in Lahore by PHC teams which also closed down 14 such businesses in Sheikhupura and nine in Kasur along with officials of the district administration and police concerned.

Moreover, 43 quacks out of the 168 centres visited on Tuesday were found to have switched over to other trades.

The centres of quacks sealed in Lahore included M Ahmed Chishti Clinic, Abdul Majeed Clinic, Al-Shifa Clinic, M Asim Clinic, Asif Iqbal Clinic, Hanif Clinic, Medical Centre, Usama Clinic, and Rizwan Clinic and five bone-setters and Hakims Karamat Jarrah, Bismillah Shifakhana, Hafiz Shifakhana Jarrah, Nadeem Shafi Jarrah and Darul Shifa Dawakhana.

Besides, the centres run by fake dentists sealed included Riaz Clinic, Meerab Clinic, Asif Dawakhana, Fahad Free Dispensary, Rizwan Medical Store and Clinic, Irfan Clinic, Al-Mustafa Free Dispensary, Maryam Clinic, Mehmood Medical Store, Khadim Hussain and Sons Medical Store and Ali Clinic.
