LANDI KOTAL: The official tribal jirga on Tuesday had a meeting with Pakhtun Tahaffuz Movement leaders and agreed to have another round of talks on June 22 after the latter agreed to postpone a public meeting in Razmak, North Waziristan.

The two sides met briefly at a private residence in Peshawar. The jirga extended the assurance that detained PTM activists would be released before Eid.

Ajmal Wazir, a member of the official jirga, and PTM leader Mohsin Dawar confirmed to Dawn the decisions reached at the meeting.

Only a few members from both sides participated in the brief meeting which was held at least four hours before its scheduled time and lasted for less than half an hour.
