LAKKI MARWAT: A housemaid was killed and her six-year-old sister was seriously wounded when owner of the house allegedly opened fire on them in Takhtikhel village here on Monday.

The incident occurred in the limits of Shaheed Asmatullah Khan Khattak police station of Naurang town. Police said the victim worked as housemaid at the residence of Mohammad Kashif Khan in remote Takhtikhel village of Naurang town.

The house owner opened fire on the victim, her sister and father, Rafiullah for coming late, a police official said, adding the housemaid died instantly while her sister was seriously wounded and shifted to a hospital in Naurang city.

Rafiullah told police that he miraculously escaped the attack and was so frightened that he left the scene in a hurry.

“Later, I along with villagers went to the scene of the incident and found my daughter lying in a pool of blood and her sister with bullet wounds,” he told police, saying with the help of villagers he shifted the body and the injured girl to Naurang hospital.

The complainant said the owner of the house refused to pay them wages and that he and his daughters had no enmity with him.

Police said they had registered a case against the killer under section 302 (premeditated murder) and 324 (attempted murder) of PPC and began investigations.
