ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Wednesday carried out anti-encroachment operation in sector F-6.

According to a spokesman for CDA Malik Saleem, in F-6, illegal small gates constructed by the residents of government houses were removed.

However, residents said the CDA has been selective in anti-encroachment operation in their area.

They said the CDA had ignored massive illegal construction on CDA’s land in G-6 and G-7 where double storey buildings had been constructed on government houses. They said that CDA’s own employees had been involved in encroachment in sector G-6, G-7, but the civic agency was not taking any action against them.

“Even, some employees of CDA, associated with labour union, have constructed double storey on government houses in G-6 and G-7, but civic agency’s anti encroachment team is targeting those residents living in government houses in F-6, who have erected small gates to make gardens in front of their houses.

CDA’s spokesman said that there is no discrimination and civic agency has been carrying out operations to ensure hurdle-free movement of the citizens. “No one has the right to construct gates on CDA land in front of their houses,” he said and added that in next phase operations will be conducted in G-6 and G-7.
