KARACHI: Mohammad Ilyas starred with a four-wicket haul as Tapal CC eased to seven-wicket win against Omar Colts in the 31st Aga Khan Gymkhana Ramazan Festival T20 cricket tournament here on Sunday.

The Group ‘B’ clash at the AKG Ground was dominated a fine spell of off-spin bowling from Ilyas, who captured four wickets for 22 runs in four overs as Omar Colts were bowled out for 111 in 20 overs after opting to bat first. Ex-international Rameez Raja scored 28 off 22 balls with two fours and one six.

Off-spinning all-rounder Hafiz Asad Baig (2-18) and the left-arm duo of Fawad Khan (2-19) and Rashid Hanif (2-28) lent fine support to Ilyas, who was later adjudged man-of-the-match.

Tapal CC duly reached the target of 112 for the loss of three wickets in 15.3 overs with Asad contributing an unbeaten 49 (44 balls, five fours and two sixes).
