KARACHI, May 25: Students and teachers from 50 different schools from across Karachi attended a ceremony aimed at creating awareness and raising funds for the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation at the Deewan Farooq Medical Complex on Wednesday. The event was jointly organized by the SIUT and the Human Rights Education Programme (HREP).

A new theme is selected every year to work on. It is, ‘A better world is possible’ this year.

The SIUT has been selected as a role model to spread hope and optimism.

The HREP is working towards the development of a socially just and stable society by providing children socially relevant education. It works through school children to make them understand the world they live in and their relationship to it.

The HREP prepared posters, pamphlets and leaflets on the working of the SIUT for the campaign.

Prof Anwar Naqvi of the SIUT, talking to participants, said health care was a basic necessity and the masses should have access to health facilities.—APP
